Questions
The things guests ask us most, answered plainly.
Coming in
Where are you?
1 Zurab Gorgiladze Street, in central Batumi.
When are you open?
Every day, from 09:00 to 23:30. Delivery runs a little shorter, 09:00 to 21:30.
Do I need to book a table?
You can book through our booking page, which shows what is free. For anything the form does not cover, call us.
The food
What is baked in the fireplace?
The khachapuri, the kubdari, the lobiani and the pizza all come out of it. Our own description calls the fireplace Leuville’s distinctive symbol, and a whole section of the menu is built around it.
What is Adjarian khachapuri, and how do I eat it?
A boat of bread filled with cheese, with butter and a raw egg dropped in as it comes out of the fireplace. Stir the egg and the butter through the hot cheese, then tear pieces off the crust and dip them. It is the dish Batumi is known for and the one ordered most often here.
What flour do you use?
Caputo. It is named in the ingredient line of the dishes that use it, so you can check for yourself rather than take our word for it.
How large is the menu?
195 dishes across 15 sections. All of it is on this site, with prices and, where we have recorded it, allergen information.
Do you have Georgian wine?
Yes. The wine list is largely Georgian and sits on the same menu as the food.
Allergies and diets
How do I find out what is in a dish?
Every dish on the menu lists its ingredients. The allergens page goes further and sets out, dish by dish, what we have recorded about the 14 allergens named in EU food law.
Why do some dishes say “not yet recorded”?
Because we have not checked them yet, and we would rather say so than let silence be read as “no allergens”. If a dish you want is marked that way, ask us before you order.
Do you have vegetarian dishes?
Yes. There are dishes without meat or fish across the menu, including the khachapuri, the lobiani, the salads and the pastry. Each one lists its ingredients, so you can check before ordering.
Booking and groups
How do I book?
Through our booking page, which shows what is available. You can also call.
Delivery and takeaway
Do you deliver?
Yes, through Bolt Food and Wolt. Both links are in the footer of every page.
Until when can I order delivery?
09:00 to 21:30, every day — two hours before the restaurant itself closes.
Why is delivery more expensive than the prices on this site?
The prices here are the ones you pay at the table. Delivery services set their own, and they run roughly 15 to 25 per cent above ours. We publish the dine-in price rather than average the two, because an average would be the correct number in neither place.
The place
What is the room like?
There is more than one. The front room is dark — exposed brick, herringbone parquet, dark green leather, and a full wall of stained glass. Behind it there is a brighter room with arched windows and a ceiling of dried flowers, and a conservatory with palms and white cloths.
Can I smoke?
Not indoors. Georgian law has prohibited smoking inside restaurants and cafés since 2018, and that applies here as everywhere else.
Practical
What does “Leuville” mean?
Leuville-sur-Orge is a village south of Paris. In 1922 the government of the first Georgian republic — which had sailed out of Batumi the year before — bought a château there, and it became the centre of Georgian émigré life in France. The name on our door points at that, and at the port they left from.
How do I reach you?
By phone or email — both are in the footer of every page and on the Reserve page. The phone is faster.
Is there a printed menu?
Yes, at the table. The same menu is on this site, which is easier to search and is where the allergen information lives.
Where can I see more photographs?
On Instagram, where we post most often. The link is in the footer of every page.
